Living Room

Enjoying some well-earned TV time? Use commercials to cut out coupons, plan meals or pay bills.

Keep a basket somewhere discrete, but accessible in the living room to allow the kids to keep a few toys there. They’ll be easier and quicker to put away than taking them all the way back to the bedroom. If you have a baby in the house, use the basket for diaper supplies to keep you from having to run back to the nursery each time nature calls.

Don’t fight it! Make the living room the “hub” of the house by designating a place to throw keys, wallets and purses.

Store movies and CDs in some kind of order that makes sense to you. Whether you arrange them alphabetically or by genre, you’ll save time trying to hunt for exactly the movie you want to watch.

Assign a “resting place” for the remotes when not in use. This will translate to no time wasted trying to look for the remote when trying to relax.
